Often times what you are going to do as a project manager is be like, I feel this to be a problem and I don’t know why so you are going to look if there is any relevant data that you can draw insights from to help support your intuition. So, a good project manager will have a good sense of the product and will have a very strong sense of the market. So, let's say there is a problem in a product that you are using or a product you are working on and you feel like it is a problem but you don’t know if there is data to support that you go find it or you go collect that data to make sure you can support your hypothesis. So, the way I see it project management is about defining a very clear hypothesis, understanding the problem space well, and then going about finding the data to support or disprove your hypothesis.
